HLSF BOARD OF TRUSTEES SCHOLARSHIP

Sobeida Peralta

Sobeida is a third year law student at Northwestern Pritzker School of Law. She graduated from Northwestern University in 2015 with a degree in History and a minor in Latina/o Studies. Sobeida emigrated from the Dominican Republic to New York City when she was twelve years old. After graduating from Northwestern, Sobeida worked at Sidley Austin LLP as a project assistant for the Products Liability and Mass Torts Litigation group. As a law student she served as Co-President of the Latino/a Law Students Association during the 2018-2019 academic year. Sobeida is a Board Member of the Woman’s Educational Aid Association, an organization that provides scholarships and mentoring to low-income undergraduate women studying at Northwestern. Following graduation, Sobeida will work at Greenberg Traurig’s Chicago office as a Litigation associate. Sobeida will keep working alongside the National Immigrant Justice Center to provide legal assistance to immigrants in need. Sobeida is an HLSF scholarship recipient for a second year in a row, 2019 and 2020. HLSF is proud to have her join the HLSF network and the overall community of Latino lawyers.
