Mr. Santiago López is a third-year law student at the University of Illinois College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Economics from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Mr. López aspires to practice real estate transactional law in Chicago. He was born in Colombia and he wishes to mentor Latino/a law students when he is further established in his career and be involved with organizations advancing that goal. Mr. López plans to use the HLSF scholarship to lessen the financial burdens of his student loans. This summer, he will be studying for the Illinois Bar Exam before beginning his career in Chicago as an associate attorney in the real estate practice group at Akerman LLP.
