Rigo is a second-year law student at Chicago Kent College of Law where he is also pursuing a Certificate in Financial Markets and Compliance. He received a Bachelor of Science in Social Policy and a Civic Engagement Certificate from Northwestern University. Rigo is the first in his family to obtain a college degree and go on to law school. Rigo is passionate about public interest and ensuring equality, diversity, and inclusion in the field of law, which he has demonstrated through his extensive community service. He is currently on the Board of the National Lawyers Guild Chicago Chapter, actively working on its Anti-Racism and Anti-Oppression Sub-Committee. This summer, Rigo will be working at the People’s Law Office. After graduation, he plans to continue to work in public interest or in expanding Latinx access to financial areas that have not been traditionally available to them. The HLSF scholarship will allow Rigo to continue his crucial public interest work. HLSF proudly welcomes this future Latino lawyer to its network and the overall community of Latino lawyers.
