Mr. Joseph Pablo Strom is a first-year law student at Chicago-Kent College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts from the University of Illinois Chicago. Mr. Strom hopes to pursue a career in public interest, focusing on labor and employment law. He plans to use the HLSF scholarship to help fund his work and classes this summer into the fall. This summer, he will work at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), supporting impact litigation, policy, and advocacy to advance Latino civil rights in the Midwest and broader U.S.
