BP AMERICA INC. SCHOLARSHIP

Cristina Alma McNeiley

Cristina is a third year law student at Chicago-Kent College of Law where she has made the Dean’s Honor List each year. She graduated from Butler University with a Bachelor of Arts in Criminology with High Honors. Cristina is a student editor on the Employee Rights and Employment Policy Journal, Community Service Chair of the Student Bar Association, Regional Secretary of the National Black Law Students Association, previous Treasurer of the Hispanic Latino Law Student Association, and previous Community Service Chair of the  Black Law Student Association. Cristina has an impressive record of community service demonstrating a serious commitment to serving the Latino communities in Chicago and Indianapolis all while maintaining academic excellence. Cristina’s perseverance, maturity and success in the face of much adversity in her life impressed the HLSF Board. For that reason, HLSF has invested in Cristina’s advancement and future two years in a row. She was a scholarship recipient in 2019 and now 2020. Upon graduation, she will work as a first-year associate in the Litigation Department at Barnes & Thornburg LLP.  The HLSF scholarship will help her advance her legal career and prepare for the July bar exam. Cristina is no doubt a rising star and HLSF is proud to have her join the HLSF network and the overall community of Latino lawyers.
