Vianey is a second-year law student at UIC John Marshall Law School, where she attends part-time while working full-time at McDonald’s Corporation. She received a Bachelor’s degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Illinois at Chicago, and is a first-generation college graduate and law student. Vianey is actively involved in advancing the interests of the Latino community. She mentors students through the Pritzker College Prep ROTC program, which initially inspired her to pursue a legal career. Currently, Vianey is a member of the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion committee at McDonalds where she continues to represent and advocate for providing more opportunities to the Latino community. She also works on asylum immigration cases through her employer’s pro bono program. After graduation, Vianey plans to work in the Chicago area advocating for the rights of the Latino community and hopes to one day open her own boutique law firm. She also would like to launch a nonprofit organization to help women interested in pursuing a legal education maneuver the law school process. The HLSF scholarship will help Vianey manage the costs of her studies this summer, bringing her closer to graduation. HLSF proudly welcomes this future Latina lawyer to its network and the overall community of Latino lawyers.
