Mr. René J. Valenzuela is a first-year law student and a Child-Law Fellow at Loyola University Chicago School of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Chicana/o-Latina/o Studies from Pomona College. Mr. Valenzuela aspires to use his law degree to work alongside communities to advance the rights of those most marginalized. He plans to use the HLSF scholarship to cover tuition and related costs. This summer, he will work at Equip for Equality, supporting Spanish and English-speaking families seeking assistance from its Special Education Clinic.
