Linda is a second-year, part-time evening law student at Chicago Kent College of Law. She received a bachelor’s degree in Justice Studies, becoming the first in her family to graduate from college. As a proud immigrant from Mexico, she has dedicated herself to helping other immigrants, including as a volunteer teacher of GED and English as a Second Language classes to immigrants at Centro Romero. She currently works full-time as a paralegal at Minsky, McCormick and Hallagan, P.C., an immigration law firm, where she helps clients navigate the complex immigration system. Linda understands the needs of the immigrant population for passionate, knowledgeable, and trustworthy legal representation. She has been able to successfully balance full-time work and school in order to pursue her dream of obtaining a legal education and becoming an immigration attorney. Linda is a shining example of how hard work and determination can help you achieve your goals and the HLSF scholarship puts her closer to realizing her dream.
