Laryssa is a first-year law student at the University of Chicago. She graduated magna cum laude from Cornell University with a Bachelor of Science in Biological Engineering. Laryssa attributes her Portuguese roots for leading her to pursue a STEM education, and she has worked to help college students do so as well. Before law school, Laryssa was a SEO Law Fellow at Wachtell, Lipton, Rosen & Katz. This summer, she will intern as a 1L Diversity Fellow at Fish & Richardson. Laryssa wants to pursue a career in intellectual property law, specifically as a patent attorney. The HLSF award will provide financial support for Laryssa to pursue her career in patent law.
