Mr. Justin Guerra is a first-year law student at the University of Illinois College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts degrees in Latin American Languages, Literatures, and Linguistics and Political Science from the University of Florida. Mr. Guerra aspires to use his law degree to help shape policy to protect vulnerable communities, especially queer and transgender Americans. He plans to apply the HLSF scholarship towards law school tuition costs and his summer externship experience. This summer, he will work at the United States District Court for the Northern District of Illinois as a judicial extern to the Honorable Judge LaShonda Hunt.
