Ms. Elizabeth Serrano is a second-year, part-time evening law student at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Criminology, Law and Justice, summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Ms. Serrano currently works full-time as a paralegal at Fitch, Even, Tabin & Flannery LLP and aspires to pursue a career in intellectual property law. She also seeks to advance the interests of the Latino community and increase the number of Latino attorneys by mentoring aspiring law students. She plans to use the HLSF scholarship to help manage the costs of law school. This summer, she will continue to work full-time as a trademark paralegal and will complete an internship at Beyond Legal Aid performing immigration work for underserved communities in Chicago.
