Cindy Ortega Ramos
Cindy is a third year law student at Northwestern University Pritzker School of Law. She graduated from the University of Texas with a Bachelor of Arts in Mass Communication and Psychology with a minor in legal studies cum laude. Cindy moved to the U.S. as an international student from Torreon, Cohuila, Mexico to escape the violence of Mexico’s drug war. She excelled in her undergraduate studies and is motivated to excel in her legal career to ultimately positively represent Latinos in big law and the overall legal profession. She will be working at K&L Gates this summer and will focus her practice on health law. Cindy’s long term career goal is to help develop national, progressive healthcare policy. The HLSF award will provide some financial support for Cindy to fully focus on her studies and career and to lessen the financial burden of student loans.
