Ms. Alexis Hernandez is a second-year law student at the University of Illinois at Chicago School of Law. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Sociology and Political Science, with a concentration in Civic Leadership, from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Before law school, she worked on Capitol Hill with the Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute and as a paralegal with the Department of Justice. Ms. Hernandez aspires to one day become a judge. She plans to use the HLSF scholarship to cover summer coursework expenses. This summer, she will be a summer associate at Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart, P.C., performing labor and employment work.
