
Mr. Andrés Rizo is a first-year law student at Chicago-Kent College of Law. He received his Bachelor of Arts, summa cum laude, from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Mr. Rizo aspires to use his law degree to advance immigrant rights and to fight for the civil rights of Hispanic and Latino communities in the United States. He plans to use the HLSF scholarship to help cover tuition costs and alleviate financial barriers as he pursues a career in public interest law. This summer, he will work at the Mexican American Legal Defense and Educational Fund (MALDEF), where he will support impact litigation aimed at protecting and advancing the rights of Latino communities.
