Ms. Kaitlyn DeSouza is a first-year law student at The University of Chicago Law School. She received her Bachelor of Arts in Economics and International Relations from Boston University. Ms. DeSouza aspires to use her law degree to practice immigration law, advocate for individuals navigating complex cross-border systems, and expand access to fair and humane legal processes for immigrant communities. She plans to use the HLSF scholarship to help pay for tuition. This summer, she will work at the Institute of Democratic Studies in Panama City, where she will perform research on electoral processes, democratic sustainability, and international responsibility.
