Mr. Jesus Meraz is a third-year law student at the University of Illinois Chicago School of Law. He received his bachelor’s degree from Illinois State University and his Master of Business Administration from the University of Illinois Chicago. Jesus aspires to become a labor and employment attorney and hopes to serve part-time in the U.S. Army Reserve’s Judge Advocate General’s (JAG) Corps. He plans to use the HLSF scholarship to cover living expenses during bar exam preparation. This summer, he will sit for the Illinois bar exam and, upon passing the bar exam, he will be sworn into the Army’s JAG Corps.
